Things to Consider Before Updating to WordPress 5.0
- Not all plugins will be Gutenberg compatible 01:31
- You’ll need to test every single functionality of your site in a staging environment.
- You should test everything anytime you make a WordPress update, but updating to WordPress 5.0 is going to be a major update that could impact your site.
- Don’t update right away if you’re in the midst of major sales or promotions. Test first!
- Always backup, backup, backup 03:18
- Even though you’ve done testing, still do a backup of your site!
