00:21 David: Hey everybody, welcome to another episode of WP The Podcast brought you to by WP Gears. I’m David Blackmon.

00:36 Tim: And I’m Tim Strifler.

00:38 David: Today we’re going to talk about how to create a mobile app from your WordPress website. In episode 457, which was three days ago, we talked about whether or not you should consider creating a mobile app for your business. Ultimately Tim and I both agreed, I highly recommend if you’re interest in that, go back and listen to the full episode because there’s really good feedback and information there but ultimately, the bottom line for Tim and I was that very few businesses, if any, need any actual mobile app but with that being said, that means that some do. So we decided to cover how to create a mobile app from your WordPress website and we’ve got some nifty tools that are going to help you do that. Tim?

01:28 Tim: Yeah definitely, so the tool is AppPresser, it’s by a guy named Scott Bolinger, he does a lot in the WordPress community, speaks at a lot of WordCamps. I met him briefly in person but I definitely wouldn’t say I know him but I definitely know a lot of people that are close with him and I definitely trust his work, his company and AppPresser seems to be the go-to for converting your WordPress site into a mobile app. Again, I have not used it but I definitely trust that it’s a solid tool and essentially what it does is it allows you to convert your content into a mobile app that you have in the iTunes App Store, on the Google Play Store and basically it pairs your WordPress site with the app and so it essentially pulls the content.

02:18 Tim: So when you publish new content, whether it is a blog post, whether it’s a WooCommerce Store, they have a add-on, an integration with WooCommerce, it’ll pull those into the app via the API and allow that content to appear in your mobile app and so you can of course customize a mobile app, the way it looks and feels and all of that and then even sell products through it, which is pretty incredible. So if you have an eCommerce business, you can create an app through AppPresser and let people download it and buy your products.

02:50 Tim: Again, as we mentioned in episode 457, people are a lot less inclined to install apps on their phone if they can just go to a browser. If it’s not something they’re going to be using multiple times a day, then they’re less likely to actually download an app on their phone and keep it there, and so keep that in mind before going through the trouble of doing all that. You want to make sure that your audience, your customer base, actually wants it and would find it convenient for them. But yeah, AppPresser is definitely worth checking out, apppresser.com works very well, it’s made for WordPress, so it’s definitely the way to go if you make that decision to create a mobile app from your website.

03:32 David: Fantastic. Tomorrow we’ve got another great episode, email marketing versus messenger marketing. Chatbots are all the rage, we’re going to tell you which one is better. Tim, until tomorrow, we’ll see you then.

03:47 Tim: Take care, bye bye.
