35 Tim Strifler: And i’m Tim Strifler
38 David Blackmon: Today in episode 815 we ask ourselves, how many H1 tags should you have per page, on your website? And before we dive off into this topic i want to do a little quick plug for WP The Podcast. If you’re listening to this on audio only on your favorite podcast listener, if you ever have the desire to join us and as if you’re in the room with us, we actually record these and put them on Youtube as well. So we do the video recordings as well as the audio recordings, and if you are a Youtube guy like me, come on over to WP Gears youtube channel and watch us. Give us a like, give us a subscribe you know. And leave us a comment there as well because it helps other people find our videos and stuff. So without further ado we’re going to dive off into how many h1 tags you should have per page. And my answer is 5.32 H1 tags per page. Tim, what’s yours good?
41 Tim Strifler: Yeah, so my answer is one! And but that’s not a hard and fast rule. We hear a lot when it comes to SEO, that only one H1 tag per page, and it’s like people think that if, if you do more than one H1 then your site will blow up, or you know, google will ban you forever, right? That’s not gonna happen! And google’s actually come out and say that you can have more you know, it’s not gonna you’re not gonna get penalized for it. But a good rule of thumb with on-page SEO is you want your page to be organized. You want it to have good hierarchy and the way you do that is through header tags. So having one H1 tag just tells google that hey here’s the main point of the page and then within that you have H2s H3s that have supporting points towards that main point.
33 David Blackmon: Obviously i was making a funny, but i’m in agreement with Tim. Typically one H1 tag is more than sufficient. However you know, if you’ve got more than one H1 it’s not going to kill you and stuff. So um yeah there you go short sweet simple boom. Next topic Tim! Tomorrow we’ve got another great topic, the best way to acquire users. This is a question that we get asked all the time. Hey, how do i find clients? How do i get people to follow me? How do i you know get this build up? This uh customer base and we’re gonna talk about it tomorrow in episode 816. So Tim, till tomorrow we’ll see you then.
20 Tim Strifler: Take care, bye.
