This Weird Way to Get New Web Design Clients that Actually Works

  1. Just search for local businesses websites that are outdated.
  2. Contact them and tell them how you can make their website better and therefore improve their business.
  3. Before you contact a company, put together a homepage design of their website using their logo. Copy and paste their images and content.
  4. Show them what their website could be, talk about the scope.
  5. Client will be more likely to pay you the deposit even on the same meeting.
  6. You are risking some time but with that method you can get even 90% closing rate.

    Hey Tim, does this go against your ‘people don’t like to be sold to’ rule?

      No, but it heavily depends on how you approach the call. If you are super higher pressure and salesy, then of course yes, they will feel like you’re being pushy and trying to sell them. But if you’re more “consultative” and show them that you went the extra mile to show them what is possible for their new website, then they will perceive it as you being helpful. With or without this approach, our job in order to win clients is to communicate the value. If you do a good job of that, then they’ll happily hand over their credit card. So this is just tool to help demonstrate the value, especially for business owners that maybe aren’t good at visualizing.
