3 Ways to Instantly Speed Up Your WordPress Website
We covered this topic extensively in episode 22. That episode is great for a list of all the ways that you can improve the speed on your website. For this episode, we will give you 3 ways that you can instantly speed up your WordPress website today.
- Compress images 01:01
- This is one of the first mistakes that new web designers make. They take these fantastic images and then try to upload them to the website without compressing them.
- Use a tool like Imagify or WP Smush to compress your images.
- Install a caching plugin 02:33
- We covered this topic in episode 206.
- A caching plugin will instantly speed up your website by serving a static copy of your website to visitors, instead of dynamically building the page each time.
- Use a tool like WP Super Cache, Comet Cache, WP Rocket, or W3 Total Cache.
- Use a content delivery network 03:16
- A tool like Cloudflare will speed up your website by loading your content from the server closest to the website visitor. Learn more about Cloudflare in episode 36.
- Another option would be a paid service like MaxCDN.
- If you’re using Divi, you can learn how to speed up Divi here.
