Top 4 Tools for Live Streaming
- Wirecast 02:10
- This tool was around long before Facebook and YouTube starting doing live streaming.
- The plus side with this tool is that you can multicast to Facebook and YouTube at the same time.
- The down side is that this tool is very complicated to use. In Tim’s words, “you’ve got to be a rocket engineer to set this Wirecast up”.
- Zoom.us 03:50
- This is a great live streaming tool that you can also use for online meetings with one person or multiple people.
- It has the ability to multicast to Facebook and YouTube and is more user friendly than Wirecast.
- Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) 04:55
- This software is basically the free, open source version of Wirecast.
- It’s a very powerful tool, considering that it is free.
- The downside is that you can’t multicast to more than one channel at a time.
- Native Platform Tools 05:45
- You can always use the native live streaming tools on Facebook and YouTube.
- It’s very easy to use this method, but you won’t get the extra features that the other options will give you, such as screen sharing.
